Rosie Cannonball sits comfortably in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, serving up a fresh take on Modern European and Italian dining with a clear emphasis on wood-fired pizzas and thoughtfully crafted dishes. The restaurant has an inviting, lively atmosphere that fits the eclectic spirit of the area without feeling overly formal or pretentious. It’s the kind of place where groups gather for casual dinners but where attention to detail remains evident — from the usage of local and quality ingredients to the carefully curated cocktail list.

The menu here is a playground of flavors, balancing shareable starters like the Blistered Green Bean Salad and Little Gem Lettuces with more substantial dishes such as the Steak Fiorentina and Blue Crab Carbonara. Pizza lovers find a distinct draw in options like the Cacio E Pepe Pizza, which cleverly interprets a classic pasta flavor into pizza form, and Rosie’s Supreme, a hearty combination of fennel sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and olives. The honey cake dessert, often mentioned by diners, offers a sweetness that closes the meal on a comforting and sophisticated note.

Locals especially appreciate Rosie Cannonball’s weekend vibe when wine deals pair seamlessly with the approachable menu, making it easy to share plates and enjoy a relaxed pace. The service leans toward attentive without being intrusive, with staff happy to guide guests through the menu and adapt orders when needed — a plus for those with dietary preferences or restrictions.

The design and setting support a social evening, with a mix of table sizes to accommodate both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. It's not a quiet, tucked-away spot, but rather a place where the buzz complements the food and drink experience. For visitors curious about Houston’s contemporary culinary scene or locals wanting a lively place to catch up over great food and cocktails, Rosie Cannonball hits a well-balanced note of quality and conviviality.

Amazing food, great desserts, amazing gelato, awesome service Definitely will be back. Just one complain maybe, we were oarty of 4 and ordered soda, we asked for a refill and honestly keep getting one. No one told us refills are not free until i saw the cheque. Based on my limi d dining experience soda without refils is normally served in a bottle or can and not in bottomless glasses.

Really cute spot with excellent food and drinks. Dirty martinis with castelvetrano olives is a massive green flag for me; I could’ve had like 10 of these drinks. As a ranch fiend, I found the ranch to be PHENOMENAL. Food came quickly and our server Dylan was happy to describe and recommend anything on the menu as well as make food modifications for my coworker who does not eat pork. Took a shot in the dark and asked if they had Malört and they did which was the luxardo cherry on top of my evening. Would happily come back again.

Good lord this place is amazing. We started with the focaccia, which is not what I would consider a typical fluffy focaccia but it is full of delicious goodies and covered in some amazing honey concoction. Heirloom tomato salad is refreshing and light, you will be scraping the sauce up with whatever is left of your bread course. Next we had a cacio e pepe pizza, which is obviously incredible. Their pizza dough is amazing and you will want to eat every bite. Finished it all off with the basque cheesecake, which they bake in the pizza oven and finish with an orange marmalade - you will dream about this for days. Take my advice and make this place your next date night or family dinner, whatever just go.

Delicious restaurant and a must visit in the Montrose area. Stopped by on a Sunday where they offer a great deal of half off wine bottles. Ordered a bunch of plates to share and each one was better than the last. Pasta and pizza were our favorites as well as the cheesecake dessert. I only wish I had the room for more desserts.

I was waiting all week for this dinner, it was for or anniversary and have to say the food and the service was amazing. Everything came out fast and hot. We got the beer salad and blisters beans to start, amazing and fresh. Then came the hot and delicious lamb ragu, followed by two pizzas. This is where I will take one star away. The cacio e pepe pizza was cooked perfectly, but the supreme was just a little on the overdone black and crispy crust side, the undercarriage was still good. The pizzas were still fantastic. Then we had the honey cake amazing. Though it was a little loud hearing the server, who was great checking on us constantly. I could hear my wife perfectly fine. We will be coming back. PS. When we sat down they had a card signed by everyone and we thought that was very sweet.

What an amazing restaurant! I came here for my birthday with my parents and we had an amazing time. Our server, Allana, was amazing!! All the staff kept checking up on us, our waters were always full. They have a few vegetarian options and I had called ahead to clarify. The menu was slightly different online and in person. We got the focaccia without mortadella. It was delicious especially with the honey. We also got the pasta alla Norma, I really enjoyed it. We got the 3 cheese pizza and the cacio e Pepe pizza, both were amazing. The crust was so good. The tarta de queso was devoured so fast! Thanks Rosie Cannonball for a very lovely birthday dinner!! I can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and beautiful decoration. The service is very good. The food is good, but there is still room for improvement. We ordered two pasta dishes, but both were a little overcooked. The pizza had great seasoning and toppings, but the crust was slightly burnt and could use a little more fermentation. However, we loved the appetizers we ordered — asparagus, and watermelon with burrata salad. They had rich and interesting flavors with amazing textures.
